Directions to Watsessing Park (Bloomfield, N.J.)
BY CAR
Take the Lincoln Tunnel. Lincoln Tunnel
becomes I-495 W.
Take Route 3 West towards Meadowlands/Garden State Parkway/Secaucus.
Take exit for Garden State Pkwy. South. From GSP, take Exit 148/Bloomfield
Ave. Bear right off the exit. Turn right at the light onto Montgomery St.
At the next light, Montgomery St. becomes Municipal Plaza. Cross Bloomfield
Ave. (third light), the park is on your left. Bear left onto Conger St.
If you are on Field #1, find a parking space (metered parking along Conger
or in the parking lot across from the park).
If you are on Field #3: Continue to the next intersection (after road curves
to the right), make a left onto Glenwood Ave. Proceed to the vicinity of
2nd St., find a parking space (free parking along Glenwood).
BY BUS
From the Port Authority Bus Terminal
in Manhattan (42nd Street & 8th Avenue):
Take #44 DeCamp bus to Bloomfield-Kearny (ask at ticket window for gate
number).
Call DeCamp at (973) 783-7500 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) or contact on-line at www.decamp.com
for schedule. It generally takes about 1 hour from Manhattan on the weekend.
Tickets are sold at the Port Authority ticket windows 24-28. One-way fare is about
$5.
Once you board the bus, tell the driver you want to get off at Watsessing Park
in Bloomfield. The “official” stop closest to the park is in Bloomfield at
the intersection of Montgomery and Franklin. If you get off there, look to the left
and you will see the park one short block from the bus stop. Most bus drivers will
accommodate you and stop on Bloomfield Avenue, directly across the street from the
park.
