Registration for Fall Ball 2021 is now open. Our season will begin on Saturday September 11th, and end by November 6th. We will not have games on Saturday October 9th.

Before registering, we would like you to understand the differences between the two divisions that make up the Big Apple Softball League, Open and Women+ Divisions. During the Fall each of these divisions consists of 4 teams for a total of 8 teams.

Open Division is open to anyone.

Both the Women+ and Open have subdivisions where skill levels vary from “experienced” to “never played”.

Women+ Division is open to cis-women, trans men and women, and non-binary folks who would prefer a space where participants are not cis-men. Women+ Division is full for the fall season. We are a welcoming league and our primary season is in the Spring/Summer (just finished), and so the Fall season is sometimes an opportunity to get picked up and join an existing Spring team. It’s possible that you could be picked up by a womens+ team for the spring league by gaining experience in the fall even if it is in the Open Division.

Fees:

$50.00 per player (Player fee includes: team shirt, umpire fees, field permits, and league operating expenses)

Registration Details:

When registering players should note their MAIN position, secondary position, and tertiary position. The first two are required. The third might be a position that you would like to improve or learn to play.

We built our Fall Season to be a social season and one that is welcoming to players that are new to our league. In order to achieve this we make sure that all of the teams within the two divisions will play at the same time. Doing this makes it so people don’t necessarily have to play on the same team as other people that you know since you will always begin and end at the same time. That said, if there is someone particular that you need to be paired with, there’s a space to indicate the “Name of additional player (if any) to be paired with”. If you need to be paired with someone, you need to indicate it here. Note that both players MUST match in the pair. Meaning Benny Baseball wants to be paired with Greg Glove. Benny must input Greg Glove on their registration form and Greg must indicate Benny Baseball on their registration form. Players that do not indicate reciprocating names will not automatically be placed on the same teams.

How will teams be formed? We will be forming teams based on the background information that you shared with us on the recruitment day or waitlist form with the goal of ensuring teams are balanced with regard to skill level.
